4 women arrested on drug charges


ROME — Four women are facing drug charges after police raided a West Dominick Street residence Monday, city police said.

Following an investigation into the possession and distribution of crack cocaine, city police and members of the Oneida County Drug Enforcement Task Force executed a no-knock search warrant at 423 W. Dominick St., city police Investigator Joseph Rotolo said.

Investigators seized 6.2 grams of crack cocaine with an estimated street value of $1,100, police said. About $500 in cash and other related evidence was also seized, police said.

Police charged the following people with felony third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance:

•Sabrina Harris, 17, also known as "Babygirl," who lived at the residence.

•Cherrie Lewis, 18, of New York City.

•Shana Ann Reid, 20, of New York City.

•Taysha Brannon, 18, of New York City.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are likely, police said.
