At Least Not So Blue
A Fox News poll published at Newsmax reveals that Giuliani is New York's kind of Republican. I'm not an especially big fan of his since he punked out of the 2000 Senate race. I also wonder about a poll that puts up middle-of-the-road types like Rudy and John McCain against Hillary. In our desperation to oust Cuomo, we picked a Republican lightweight who has lost so much power that Spitzer is very likely to become the next governor.
Believe me, a state that voted 60-40 Kerry and 70-30 for Schumer is not likely to turn red too soon. The good news is, with the population drop, New York will likely lose 3-5 electoral votes by the 2012 presidential election.

You're right of course (no pun intended.)
I'm old enough to remember that heady year of 1984 when New York State, that good ol' blue state, went for Reagan.
It seems so impossible now, but it really did happen.
